AILA Subject Access and Classification Committee wiki

NOTE: In 2010 the AILA Subject Access and Classification Committee was changed from a standing committee to an ad hoc committee to be convened on a project by project basis by the AILA executive board. This space was used from 2006-2010 as the group wiki.

Charge

The committee was charged with facilitating improved access to information about Native Americans by identifying ways to improve existing subject headings/thesauri and classification schemes, and identifying and developing alternatives to these.

Initiatives

Committee members submitted new and revised subject headings to the Library of Congress through the SACO program to improve subject access to           materials about Native Americans.
